Day of the Child 2012
Day of the Child Community Fair was celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The fair was held at Memorial Park in Chula Vista and was an overwhelming success. The fair hosted over 100 booths, with 94 organizations offering free resources and services to approximately 4,000 fair participants. You could easily see the engagement and interest from community members as many commented on the success of the event. Two event stages provided hours of fun and entertainment. Raffle prizes added to the excitement of the event. Welcoming remarks by Senator Juan Vargas, Mayor Cheryl Cox, and School District Superintendent Francisco Escobedo, as well as the presence of Councilwoman Bensoussan and Aguilar, demonstrated the interest and recognition of the event as an important community event.
